Saturday's Yard Sale Spoils: O Christmas Tree Edition

Saturday morning I had VERY high hopes.  Two big neighborhood yard sales and one little ol' me.

I can't believe this is all I have to show for it!

Not that I'm not thankful for everything I find.  I am.  But it seemed like I was two minutes too late at every house I would stop at.  Deals were being made everywhere for the items I wanted.  Ugh!  Oh well.  There's always another Saturday morning right around the corner.

I was super excited to buy a fake Christmas tree for five bucks.  My mom has been buying me Hallmark Barbie Ornaments since they first emerged on the scene in the early 90's...and after many years and sometimes multiple Barbies each year I have quite the collection.  My dear husband grumbles each year when our tree is covered in Barbie ornaments.  The girls love this, of course, but he's got enough pink in his life already...he doesn't need it on his Christmas tree too.  So this year we'll put a tree in the girls' room and they can put all of their girly ornaments on it.  I think they'll be thrilled when they hear the news!

I also bought a handful of fifty cent dvd's, a nice collection of Rainbow Fairy Books at 25 cents each, Toddler Wise book so I can brush up on my toddler babywise skills, a couple of loveys, a stroller for Charlotte for Christmas, lots of dress up dresses and a few clothes for the baby.  I also picked up a vintage fisher price little people house which will be delivered to a nephew, some Thomas stuff, a few my little ponies and a few more odds and ends.  I won't even tell you what I DIDN'T get because that will cause me to relive the big fishes that got away and I might get sad.  I hope you had a better Saturday than I did!

  3. Love finding cheap DVD movies. Still some pretty good finds and to quote a wise woman standing in front of me in line one day. "We won't miss what we didn't know was there".
To see it walk away in someone else arms can be painful though ;)

  6. Babywise is dangerous. It's being investigated by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the chair of the Harvard Medical School has come out against it publicly. It's directly implicated in malnutrition, failure to thrive, and infant death. Please do some research outside the book!
