How was your weekend?

It was a busy one for us.  First soccer practices, church meetings, and another night closing down the pool.

Our mother-daughter American Girl Doll book club took on Aloha Kanani, and met for a pool party.  We didn't mention the book once, but the girls had fun swimming, eating Hawaiian pizza, and savoring some sweet shaved ice.

There was some time spent on ebay shipping, and of course there were the dreaded "I took the toy apart to put batteries in and make sure the toy works and it fell apart" moments.

And yes, there were yard sales, but only a few.  I had to be home by 8 to grab dear husband and head to church for sunday school teacher training.  It was painful to drive by the signs and not be able to stop.    But I look at my garage full of stuff and know that God has blessed me and will take care of me like He has the birds of the field, so I'm okay.  I did buy some Happy Family Barbie stuff (man is it dirty!!  ugh!!  it will take forever to clean it I'm sure), an exersaucer, ten cent books, clothes for the girls, and some other random fifty cent box things.

What did you find?  Would love to see!

  1. I feel your pain. Three weeks ago, I spent Friday/Sat/Sun in Connecticut with my best friends from college. Last weekend, I spent Sat/Sun with my family and in-laws in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. This past weekend, I spent in Chapel Hill with my mom's entire side of the family for a wedding. Needless to say, I'm tired of driving and ITCHING to hit a few sales! Thank God for thrift and freecycle - between the two this past week, I got some nice clothes/shoes to list and two Bumbos :)

Now to just start the fall listing process...

  2. Glad you had a fun weekend Jen. There will be other sales. I hope you were able to get Thomas back together again.

  4. I wish I had time to post pictures but I don't. I did score a few good things this weekend though at a thrift store 98 cent back to school sale! I got a boppy vibrating chair, hippo peek a blocks ride on, little people princess ride on, yo gabba gabba guitar (sells well on ebay), powerpuff girl figure set (also sells well), and some clothes for myself all for 98 cents each!

  5. Thanks for posting this! I look forwards to it every week. So I have a question for everyone and am hoping for some help. This week I bought 10 different little people sets at a garage sale for super cheap. I have been looking at ebay and I could sell all the people on ebay for a pretty good amount. More then I think I could get if I tried to sell each set individually. We have a consignment sell coming up this next month and I was wondering if I could sell the little people places even though they would not have the animals and people with them. What do you think? Thanks
