Sunday Best for Less: Beachy Date Night Edition (Thrift Store Find)

I've noticed my closet is quickly filling up with cute G-Dub thrifted dresses, so I decided to take this week's Best for Less to a new direction:  accessories.

Accessories are a great way to update your wardrobe on the cheap.  I usually head right for the clothes and don't even browse the shoes and belts when I'm in the G-Dub boutique, but I crossed my fingers last week and headed to the $1.39 belt rack.  This cute stitched leather number immediately caught my eye.  The blue and green threading was so fun and different and I could think of 10 different outfits to wear it with.  Oh yeah, mine.

Belt in hand, I needed shoes.  The right shoes.  I guess I've been on a country kick lately, but this belt made me think cowgirl boots.  I wanted cowgirl boots.  So, I didn't find cowgirl boots, but I did find these.  They had an interesting western scroll type design on the front, but a high thin heel in the back.  Faded Glory from Walmart, Goodwill price, $4.   In my size.  Oh yeah, mine.

I brought these with me to the beach, along with a white eyelet dress I've had for years.  I couldn't wait to branch out and belt something!  For $5.39 + tax, I updated a favorite dress and made it new again.  It was perfect for our date to the local cafe for 19 cent steamed shrimp.  We ended the windy night with a hand-in-hand walk out onto the soundside dock.  A storm seemed to be rolling in, and dark, ominous clouds hung angrily over the sound.  Lightning struck in the distance and thunder rolled.  I hope we get a storm tonight...I love a good beach storm.
