Consignment Sale Shopping for 6 hours = Tired Yard Sale Mommy

Whew.  I did it.  Again.  And it was so much fun.  I loved every minute.

I spent $400.  That's a lot of money.

I got a lot of stuff.   I have a summer's worth of inventory, for sure.

Somehow in the picture it doesn't seem like much, but there are some fun things in that pile of plastic.  Lots of ebay-able things!!

My ebay helpers are going to be busy tomorrow!!

  1. I am jealous very jealous. Nice finds. I see you got the blues clues house and those fisher price bird baths should get you some nice profit. I sold one for $40 I think.

  3. This is interesting. I always shop our JBF sale and I totally just skim the toys because my kids have WAYYY to many! Now I am going to have to figure out what to look for : )

  4. I see you got Wonder Pets Fly Boat, it sells so good on e-bay. We picked one up at a yard sell this past Saturday for $0.50 and so far on e-bay its well over $20.00. I am excited to go to the consignment sell here now.

  5. Jen - You are like my new best friend! :) Even though I don't "know" you! Just when I thought I was the queen of all things consignment sales, you give me a fresh new perspective about buying toys there to sell on ebay! I am so darn excited for the fall sales now!!! Hopefully I don't spend all my selling profits on what I buy to sell?! :) ha ha - husband would have a heart attack, we depend on my consignment income big time!

  9. Thanks for the heads up on the Wonder Pets Boat. I would never have thought to buy that without the tip. I found two,but I am sure there was more under the piles of plastic! I go back tonight to work so I will see if I can see anything else.

I am actually overwhelmed at it right now. Today we will probably just put it all away and I'll pull it out in a week or so when I have time to think about it. You are right--it is a lot of listing and posting!

  10. I think once you begin to sort through it, you'll find it less overwhelming, particularly since you've already sold some of those things, so you can "Sell Similar" and won't need to retake a lot of photos. Really great haul; wish I understood these sales a little more :)

  11. Oh how I wish we had a consignment sale near me that is that big. There is only one near me and I participate in all their sales. I also score a lot of my Ebay items there. My last sale was a few months ago and I got a John Lennon Musical Parade Lamp and another accessory and a bunch of Ralph Lauren bedding that had the bear on it.
My Sept consignment sale money ( profits from what I sell there and what I buy there and sell on Ebay) pretty much paid for Christmas last year. I hope to do it again this year.
Glad to see the Blues Clues House was still there for you!

  12. Oh and I have to ask how long did you stand in line to check out? I imagine you had to check out more than once with that haul. The only thing I don't like about my local sale is that the check out line takes 45 minutes at least and there is no place to put your stuff so if you are buying a lot or large items you have to stand with them in the line and shuffle it all along. Kind of a pain but worth it in the end.
